My life thus far

Two things I want to start this post with:

1) God is good. Lemme rephrase that…God is SO good!

2) I’m sorry for not keeping up to date with this blog. I have been so engulfed in this DTS that it can become difficult to find time to update or even call home. I wish I had been keeping up to date weekly so you would know what’s been going on cause now its all a big jumble in my head.

For those that are confused as to what a DTS is the acronym stands for Discipleship Training School. These are what the mission trips are called in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) with a 12 week long lecture phase and another 12 weeks in outreach. Each week during lecture we have a different theme. One of the weeks that stood out to me most was the Gifts of The Spirit. We had the speaker Amy Sollars for the week and she went into more detail of the different gifts of the Holy Spirit…lemme just jump straight into what I learned. The Holy Spirit is REAL. Wow duh smack in the face. I come from a church that doesn’t highlight the gifts of the spirit (gift of tongues, prophecy, etc.) so seeing this first hand was amazing. Our class had people falling over in the spirit, laughing…a lot (this was me), and speaking in tongues. It was amazing. You can’t know the Father and the Son and without knowing the Holy Spirit. You can know the God and Jesus but the relationship isn’t complete without the Holy Spirit. There’s a lot of other stuff I can write but this would be a long post.

THANK YOU TO ALL MY SUPPORTERS WHO GOT ME HERE! BLESSINGS SENT YOUR WAY!

Lemme just start off with saying, Jesus is alive and moving! Holy cow. The past four days have been so…words escape me but that is only because I cannot describe the Lord with these mere human words. The Lord exceeds any of our expectations and has most likely laughed at any of the assumptions I had coming into this. I have encountered people from all over the world and brought into on place. God is so present here! The prayer and worship is one thing that’s given a huge slap to me…not a ‘you’ve been bad’ slap but a ‘wake up!’  slap. Once again, I am at a loss for words but Gods presence here is so prevalent. It cannot be ignored!

Mahalo EVERYONE for the amazing support and prayer that you’ve been showering my way. Seriously. Aloha Au Ia`oe .

Jason Russell news

I am a very passionated person when it comes to topics about justice. I have tried not to get into heated discussions but it is very difficult when people have been so close minded. It breaks my heart to hear all this negativity. This article really sums up what I’ve been trying to say.

Regarding the News About Jason Russell of Invisible Children

Shaken&Stirred

Justice Conference 2012 set the scene for my trip to YWAM. I have never been so filled and encouraged. Leaders from around the world along with organizations speaking and representing the voiceless spoke to thousands of people over the course of these past two days. I gave an example of a cup being constantly filled with water until it is spilling over. The water is not being displaced anywhere specifically but everywhere. That is me. These speakers have filled me up with encouragement to seek justice and fight for those who’s voices have been stifled. I don’t know where God is calling me to go except that he has made it clear that I can go anywhere I want. “Sky’s the limit!” Don’t withhold or think for one minute that you can’t play an important role in someones life. Stephan Bauman said something along the lines of this:

Look at your hands. What can you do with them? We have the potential to do something incredible.

We’ve created poverty because we do not know how to share (Shane Claiborne). I feel like doing something extreme. Selling my clothes and moving out to live on the streets beside those shrugged off by society. What makes them less worthy of love than us? Love is a universal language and we have withheld that from the “lowly”. If you can speak, move, and have passion to help others then do it. It’s that simple.

i feel LOVED

YAY! The Lord is so good to answer prayers. I am so thankful for the people who surround me in support. I just received another letter from a friend for sponsorship…I’m so bad with words I don’t even know if that’s the term.

Sarah Firman, thank you!!!!! Sarah and I go back to the summer of 2009. We both met doing Work Crew for Young Life camp in Oregon. That summer completely changed my life and God revealed himself to me. I have been made new and was baptized New Years eve (which turned into day) 2010. Sarah was able to witness what the Lord did in my life as well as the others that were part of the Work Crew. I hold a very special place for them in my heart because they were there to see the Lord work in my life and vice versa. Thank you again Sarah. Love you very much and am completely blessed that you have supported me. My prayers go out to you as you continue your walk with the Lord and your future internship.

Shout out to Work Crew ‘09, I love you guys so much and am so thankful for each and every one of you. If it weren’t for you guys, I would not be the person I am today and of course the Lord who did some big modifications in my heart. The Lord does amazing things bringing people together and I am so thankful for that.

I cannot thank the Douglasses (is that you you would do it plural? Douglas’?) enough for donating $1,000 for my mission trip. It is a giant blessing and weight lifted from my shoulders. Thank you so much for believing in me and trusting me enough to go out and share the love of Christ. It is an honor knowing you guys and to receive your blessings.

Also, shout out to my mentor Kathy Terada and Ruth’s mum and dad for also donating. Seriously, I am so entirely blessed. It is amazing to see the Lord using each and everyone of us to bless others. BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING.

Currently I’ve got 3 jobs gong for me (PTL) and am on my way to raising more money but I still need your help! Please continue to pray and help donate!
